Charles S. Faddis served twenty years in the Central Intelligence Agency as an Operations Officer, holding positions as a Department Chief at the CIA’s Counterterrorism Center in Washington, D.C., and as a Chief of Station in the Middle East. Prior to joining CIA, Faddis was a U.S. Army Armor and JAG officer and then served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Washington.
In March 2010, Faddis published his third book, "Willful Neglect," a critical look at the security of American infrastructure and the dangerous illusion of homeland security. He is the author of "Beyond Repair," a scathing critique of today’s CIA, and the co-author of "Operation Hotel California," which recounts how he led the first CIA mission into Iraq in 2002 in preparation for the pending invasion.
Faddis was born at the Bethesda Naval Hospital and his mother’s family has lived in Maryland since the late 1700’s. He and his wife have been residents of Maryland for the last twenty-one years. Faddis has been married for thirty-five years and has four children. In addition to his writing and speaking, Mr. Faddis consults for the U.S. military. He graduated from The Johns Hopkins University (1980) and the University of Maryland Law School (1983).
